Did anyone really notice just how polarized and black/white the original scene was? “You can’t play with him.” “he has a small brain” “we never ever play with each other.” See what I mean? Pretty racist for a g rating if you ask me. Comments anybody?
It’s common in most animal groups to be suspicious of other species. It was more prevalent in the original movie, as you had to be VERY careful outside of the Great Valley. Now however it seems that Mr. Threehorn is the most racist of all the Great Valley dwellers. He’s a natural protector, and would likely do VERY well in the Mysterious Beyond. It’s probably difficult for him to transition, as he’s likely spent most of his life outside the valley.
Yeah I didn’t like the racist attitude of the grownups very much. But like Austin said, it’s just the way things were. Thankfully with the kids growing up in the great valley their a lot less racist. Different types of people working together is a great lesson for kids.
