Chomper and what his future could teach us.

Perhaps no character has more speculation about his future than Chomper. Let’s face it, he’s a Sharptooth and that alone casts huge doubt upon his future, especially when it involves Littlefoot & Co.
LBT often likes to teach lessons to kids young and old. So what could Chomper’s future teach.
Good Chomper
We’d all like Chomper to make it and stay nice. Here are some things that a nice Chomper could teach.
1.) Let’s face it, people are often told that if they’re born a certain way, that they are only fit to be second best, or are doomed to a life of failure, crime, etc. People are often now trained to play the victim in society because of where or what they were born as. I think that some political and other figures are making this issue worse and worse.
Let’s face it, being born as a Sharptooth in the LBT universe usually dooms one to be set against the main characters. However, Chomper has, so far, managed to be the exception. If he manages to make it all his life without going bad, then he could teach that despite what you are born as, your ultimate fate and future is largely dependent on you. Yes, he could face prejudice from both Leaf Eaters and Sharpteeth alike and yes, he’d have to fight off his nature at times, but that would only make the lesson all the more powerful.
2.) Littlefoot believes in Chomper, despite what happened to his own mother, he still wants to help him. This could show that, if someone believes in you enough, you can change your future for the better.
Bad Chomper
Ok, Chomper has his size and species working against him. He could also fail. This could also teach lessons, albeit sad ones.
1.) It could teach that no matter how hard you try, you cannot change some people. Perhaps the Gang tries but Chomper ultimately, whether voluntarily turns on the Gang and is chased off (or even killed), or, finding that he cannot hold off his nature, says farewell to the Gang and departs, never to see them again.
2.) It could show that sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you cannot do everything. Perhaps tries his very best, but ultimately fails.
Mixed
1.) Perhaps Chomper will screw up and harm some dinos, but will ultimately be brought to the light by his friends. This could show the power of redemption.
Logically a sharptooth can’t survive on bugs forever. He’s small now so he can live on only perhaps a few hundred bugs a day, but when he gets older, thousands (or tens of thousands) would be needed. There just aren’t that many bugs around. And we’ve seen what happens when sharpteeth try to eat green food.
He might have to leave the Great Valley when he grows up so he doesn’t end up hunting his friends. And he may come back to visit every now and then. But a sharptooth is a sharptooth and is fundamentally different than a leaf eater.
However, I’m sure there are other types of animals besides dinosaurs that he could eat when he gets older. We have no idea how dinosaurs look at these other animals – whether they see them as equals or as an inferior form of life. As a matter of fact, we’ve never really seen other animals in the movies.
At this point it’s all speculation, but I have the feeling that all the dinosaurs (including Chomper) are going to be affected by the “Ash Ketchum” syndrome. They’ll never grow up or even seem to grow at all.
Logically Simba shouldn’t have either and Diego shoulda cracked in Ice Age (especially the third one when he had trouble getting that antelope guy.).
Actually, my plan was to have him eat omnivores (but not the Ruby type). I had to take a stretch based off of the Domeheads (who tried to eat Cera in the first movie but presumably reside in the Great Valley as “planet eaters” in movie 11.) In short, a dangerous type of omnivore. They’d be a greater threat to the plant eaters than the meat eaters, as they can disguise themselves as plant eaters and get past the Great Valley’s defenses. Also, with their diverse diet, they can hide in otherwise inhospitable environments (like the volcano regions of the Mountains that Burn.). In short, since omnivores can eat leaves, them killing for food would be more appalling to the audience as Sharpteeth “can’t eat vegetables, only meat.”
Hence, by creating something more sinister than Sharpteeth that the audience would feel less sorry for them if they died than perhaps other dinos.
Please, Chomper could always go after Egg Eaters. And, there is another possibility: Chomper doesn’t really fit in with the other Sharpteeth and he’s also on the larger end. Meaning he might be able to best smaller Sharpteeth. Perhaps he’ll eat them instead of Leaf Eaters, which, I’m sure, the Great Valley would be thrilled with.
