Rhett: Hero or Villain in the future?

I know Rhett is just in one episode, but I still wonder about him. In part, because he could be an obstacle in the future to a Littlefoot X Ali relationship.
Admittedly, I’m not sure if he’s changed. He seemed apologetic only because he got caught. Admittedly, even Pterano showed more reformation than him. Pterano actually DID admit he was wrong and kinda deserved to be banished.
In my regular LBT fanfics, I had Rhett turn out to be a protagonist, but in my The Return of the Tyrantasaurus, I had him turn out to be a villain, who allied with Sharptooth in a plot to get rid of Littlefoot and Chomper and get Ali for himself.
