I had, even before the Florida incident, had a set of rules passed on my LBT fanfiction finale. It was called The Sharptooth Code.

The Sharptooth Code was an infamous set of laws in the Great Valley that basically said that:

1.) No Sharptooth could eat meat in the Great Valley
2.) No Sharptooth could, while staying as a resident, go beyond sight of the Great Valley (to supposedly ensure they would kill Leaf Eaters in the Mysterious Beyond and use the Great Valley as a refuge.)
3.) No Sharptooth could eat green food in the Great Valley (this was to target Ptero, who was part Flattooth.)

The intended purpose of these laws was to protect Leaf Eaters from being eaten by Sharpteeth. Unfortunately, more residents than not agreed to these rules.

The target of Ptero was supposedly to punish him for the crimes of Sharpteeth, saying he shouldn’t share in their green food after what his kind did to Leaf Eaters.

The true purpose of these laws was to:

1.) Make the Valley less safe. If the Sharpteeth snapped and hurt someone, the villain would appear to have been right about them and would gain more power and sway over the Great Valley. These rules were based off of gun control laws.

The anti-Ptero laws were more based on the anti-white stuff (like white guilt, white privilege, needs of whites to provide reparations to blacks for slavery, etc, crap being brought up by the Left.)

2.) As Littlefoot was believed to be the Great One (the savior of the Leaf Eaters) and was also associating with these Sharpteeth the most, if the Sharpteeth snapped, odds were highest that Littlefoot would lose his life, so it was also a covert assassination attempt on him.

      Obviously, we can see that

1.) If Sharpteeth want to go rogue, they’d just ignore the laws.
      2) IT would punish good Sharpteeth and make them more likely to go hungry and hence cause actual harm.
3.) Due to his constant warnings about Sharpteeth, if they do go rogue, Deino will just go on about how he warned about Sharpteeth and the result will be that the Great Valley will trust him more and give him MORE power, forgetting (or not making the connection) that it was his stupid laws in the first place that would have caused the tragedy.

Actually, that’s ultimately what happens, though Deino misjudges the Sharpteeth and they end up holding out so long (though Chomper was close to cracking and was planning to leave right after Littlefoot’s 25th birthday (when the quest would be completed) so that he could protect his friends. However, Deino, nervous that Dil, Ichy, and Orni (Egg Stealer) were nearly the last holdouts and were near to coming over, Deino tries to kill Littlefoot and Ali (I think I’ll have her have a part in the prophecy too and he someone knows she’s the other one in the prophecy) but is thwarted by Doc and the Old One, though the two Longnecks perish in the attempt.

Deino frames Chomper and his pals, who have to run for it from a Great Valley mob that would give them a chance to defend themselves and who only escape with Litlefoot’s help (an act which gets Littlefoot banished for life form the Great Valley) and when Deino says “See I told you so.”, the Great Valley, including Grandpa and Grandma Longneck and Mr. Threehorn, make him the head leader and abolish the Council of Elders and make him the single leader of the group, free to put into power below him whomever he wishes, hence making him dictator of the Great Valley.

I’m wondering, do you think the Shasrptooth Code is a good mockery of gun control laws (low level enough that it’s not blatant in a kid’s story, but subtle enough that a kid might think twice about gun control after making the connection between the Sharptooth Code and gun control.)?
