Dil and Ichy: Were they Friendly Sharpteeth in the past?

There are several indications that they might have been.

1.) They can talk. The Old One says that she’d never heard of a Talking Sharptooth before when she met Chomper for the first time. That makes me think that it’s not that common then, considering how old she likely is.

2.) They aren’t with their own kind. While this isn’t unprecedented in LBT (There is Red Claw, Screech, and Thud after all), it’s not the norm. Also, with Red Claw, Screech, and Thud, it’s quite clear that Red Claw is the leader. With Dil and Ichy, there appears to be no definitive leader.

3.) Their intelligence level seems too high to be your average LBT Sharptooth. For instance, they don’t idiotically snap at things they cannot get (like even the first Sharptooth did). They nearly had Littlefoot and Archie finished. They might have gotten Cera had not Ali intervened. They WOULD have had Petrie had they not gotten into an argument. The same goes for Ducky, they nearly got her. Indeed, their inability to beat the Gang is well, the fact they probably weren’t experienced in dealing with inter-species alliances and also they argued too much. Also, interestingly, it’s what defeated them that is interesting. They share with the Plated Sharptooth the fact that they were only ones in LBT so far to be defeated by OTHER Sharpteeth. In Ichy’s case it was Dil (he certainly lived). In Dil’s case, it was the Swimming Sharptooth (she may have lived). In the Plated Sharptooth’s case, it was Chomper’s parents.

Do you think my theory holds any water or do you thinking I’m chasing a rabbit trail that’s not there?

I’m not sure why they would be friendly sharptooth. Nothing about them screams friendly to me. They’re different from other sharpteeth, but then again, they’re not a T-Rex. They’re a different species. That probably accounts for the difference.

You misunderstood me. I’m saying, maybe years earlier, they were where Chomper is now. They were friends with Leaf Eaters. Something went wrong. Perhaps one or both of them was raised by Leaf Eaters. I know nothing screams friendly NOW, but what about years ago? I mean, they can talk.

Also, suppose that 10 or so years down the line (hope he doesn’t) that Chomper goes rogue. Now he’s not friendly to Leaf Eaters anymore but he’s been shunning other Sharpteeth, including his own species. Perhaps he’ll end up alone or in dire straits like those two.

If that’s true then it was MANY years ago. Dill is likely pretty old as she’s losing her eyesight and Ichy doesn’t look young either.

I actually put them as about 30. Maybe Dil was older. As for eye sight, it need not be older. Perhaps she got injured by an irate Flattooth that didn’t want to be on the menu. Or maybe she is just nearsighted or something and because glasses weren’t invented yet, she doesn’t have any help.
