Had a LBT idea, but would it work or be booed down?

I honestly fear though, that this idea will be received like LBT 13, though for the opposite reason. LBT 13 was rather silly, but LBT 16 might be too serious.
I was going to have a new character deal with loss. Originally, I was going to have her mention later that her family was dead but I decided to have her mention it sooner and actually have dealing with loss be the theme of LBT 16.
First, it would start with a Longneck named Dayo. However, I brought Bron back into LBT 16. I also brought in Shorty again. This time, I had Shorty fall in love with the new character, Dayo. That would work as Dayo and Shorty are the same species actually. As the story progresses, Shorty would finally start to open up about his past, including how he saw his two parents get eaten, trying to save him, in front of him.
Near the end, Dayo, who would have some negative experiences in the Great Valley from those like Mr. Threehorn and Mrs. Maia, who wouldn’t like her antics, which, including a strong fear of Sharpteeth that causes her to be overly paranoid, would also be pretty clumsy.
Dayo would run away, and Shorty would go after her. Littlefoot and the others would come thereafter. They encounter the Sharpteeth that killed Dayo’s family, in addition to Shorty’s old enemies, the ones who killed his family. The Sharpteeth wouldn’t be working together, because until movie 25, that’s quite rare. (Chomper ends up normalizing that practice actually, which, in a weird way, causes it to be easier for Flatteeth to work together in the Mysterious Beyond, as the necessity of survival against Combined Packs would necessitate it.) They would eventually manage to defeat all the bad Sharpteeth, thus getting some form of vengeance. Then, at the end of the movie, Dayo would be adopted by Bron and thus become a sort of foster-sister to Littlefoot.
Also, Dayo and Littlefoot would have something in common, or so it would appear (In LBT 25, I really that a Fanged Flattooth actually killed Littlefoot’s mother,both attacking her before Sharptooth fought with her and after too.), losing a parent to Sharpteeth. It would be interesting to have Littlefoot bring up his mother’s death again. (I was going to save that for LBT 25, but decided that we REALLY do need a backstory on both of Littlefoot’s parents, particularly his mother.)
The story is named The Land Before Time XVI: The Lonely Longneck.
